I remember the exact day everything changed for our country as a whole it was years ago, I was 14 years old the date was September 11th 2001, I was sitting in a class room , and an announcement came over the intercom, a plane has it the world trade center. I remember that day so clearly because I had to go home early and when I got home I found out the reason they let us out of school. Because a major hub for the world trade center was down town Baltimore

 I remember my mom got on the phone with my godmother because my god sister who was in New York at the time was missing in action no one knew where she was. That was the first time I had seen such chaos in my life and they played it over and over and over again on the television

That was the day my innocence was truly broken, the invisible barrier that nothing bad could ever happen. little did I know that years later we would still be dealing with this little did I know that I would be the one to grow passionate for a cause bigger than a fashion trend because fashion was easy, fashion was sweat but it wasn’t enough for me I started in 2001 to want to do something different but it came to head after having seen so many shootings and attacks from columbine to virginal tech to make me say “what can I do? What can be done?” 

That was when I wrote my first draft of the plan to directive young woman find pride in their material beauty, I wrote a paper for my English class about the violence in the world when does it end and the fact of the matter is it doesn’t, Not until the parent’s teach their children. 

I remember Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson saying children are our father” and “teach them well and let them lead the way”

But what have they been through they said that 20 years ago in the mid to early 90’s and those kid’s that were kids then are adults , Now teen’s with gun’s, Boston bomber New York city bomber , church’s getting shot up and people being killed for their religious beliefs. Looks to me like that statement went over every one’s head and now we are the generation that is paying for it. 

We use to be young and naïve confuse by what we saw on the news. And the complexities of life that we didn’t choose 

As we grew so did our new no longer cloaked in the dew of what they knew. No longer is there peace of mind to walk outside at the drop of a time , no we find that there is crime and we find ourselves paralyzed, wrapping ourselves in sublime of the fact it will go away in time, at least in our mind we sink back in a corner and rock back and forth to the rhythm and the rhyme

the comfort of the recesses of the mind telling ourselves the velveteen lies , but are we setting ourselves up for a consequence we can’t yet find. We are living and breathing in time where there is crime a crime to walk down the street while black, are we failing and falling off track when the rights of our ancestors fought for are slipping right back, that the sin I’m in can be a target for attack. Then opening of the mind to whatever confidence are we blind society tries to make you, take you … break you … down. I know so many feel the same way I do that’s why there is a skin of active in a crew. 

But, Peace be still inside of you , you need to realize what the one’s before you to teach you a thing or two in order to stop what was confusing  to you, to lead you to guide you . No matter what , just when I thought I fell out of it it draws me right back into it just like a new calling , into my spirit , something a new, something that I must do… , biting frustration at the curve of insanity , shaping change  confusing. I always  thought  and  believed I would never be sucked into it the politics I knew if it has to become laundry . Love hate affair with all the things that our society  makes us aware, it has become parasite cares of the deadening flesh of the distress of our countries, SCREAMING  CRYING  out of distress. But, Never the less

I never thought I would get caught up in this mess each news story coming in and out causing, more stresses. 

I never thought it would become much more of a part of me the more that I pull away the more it made me say the very thing you avoid is the very thing that you truly need and for me it’s an impact now that I can finally see 

I want to make today issues a distant memory but it stirred something deep inside of my belly, a stir that can only be solve by using my voice to make the impact is important to me 

I finally understand the impact I am supposed to make in the world I finally found admission for the activist that came before me. Activist , poets and peace makers of old , my passion for Art culture peace  and love will always  be a part of  me , that  is why I was placed into this world , weather I am writing a poem , speaking a speech , or expressing my feelings I can’t do it without my passion it can’t do without me it will be a part of me till the end of me. e a blog post subtitle that summarizes your post in a few short, punchy sentences and entices your audience to continue reading.Blogging gives your site a voice, so let your business’ personality shine through.
